Friday, October 18 |6 PM | Burney Center
Get ready to kick off the season in style! Join us for the 8th Annual UNCW Basketball Tip-Off Dinner for an evening of fun with players, coaches, and fellow fans.
Former Seahawk Mark Byington, fresh off leading James Madison 32-4 season and NCAA Tournament appearance, will serve as keynote speaker. Byington, an All-CAA point guard at UNCW (1994-98), was named head coach at Vanderbilt on March 25.
You’ll get the scoop on this season’s Seahawks, get to interact with the team, and have the opportunity to bid on exclusive auction items.
Cocktail hour begins at 6 pm, with the program and dinner set for 7 pm.
Included with the National Championship package is the VIP Cocktail Reception, which includes an oyster and shrimp cocktail bar courtesy of Shuckin’ Shack.
October 23 | Trask Coliseum | 5 pm
Join the UNCW women’s basketball team for a skills and wellness clinic on the hardwood at Trask Coliseum for both young players and parents!
For the players (8th grade and under):
Get on the court with your favorite Women’s Basketball student-athletes for a skills clinic that’s perfect for preparing for the upcoming season! Every participant will receive a free t-shirt, poster, and have the opportunity to get autographs from the team following the clinic.
For the parents:
While your players hone their basketball skills, you can explore health and wellness activities with local vendors, including:
- Healthy eating options for kids, posture assessments and general health Q&A with Dr. Ada Suter of Innate Health Family Chiropractic & Wellness.
- Financial and holistic wellness coaching with Samantha Ray Mifsud of Northwestern Mutual.
- Acupuncture with Dr. Gretchen Rivas of Infinity Acupuncture.
- Wellness Reimagined with Renoja Wellness Studios.
- Complimentary 15-minute stretches with StretchLab of Wilmington.
Shortly after the OneSeahawk event, the UNCW Women’s Basketball team will take the floor for an open practice in Trask Coliseum at 6:30 pm. Clinic participants are invited to stick around to enjoy free food and get a first look at a team poised to take a major step in its second season under Head Coach Nicole Woods!
Each paid entry is good for one child and one accompanying adult. Each child must be accompanied by an adult.
November 21 | Wine Knot Sky Bar and Lounge
Hang out with the Seahawks’ head man and enjoy incredible views of downtown Wilmington, the Cape Fear River, and the USS North Carolina.
Located in the historic Murchison Building, Wine Knot serves up local beer, a wide selection of wines, and a curated cocktail menu.
