The OneSeahawk Mission
OneSeahawk brings together student-athletes with the local community to create winning opportunities for all. Fans, alumni, and organizations align toward a common goal to create partnerships in order to support our student-athletes and afford them opportunities to be compensated while making an impact for the betterment of Wilmington and surrounding communities.
The OneSeahawk Collective was founded to create an avenue for UNCW student-athletes to make a positive influence on the local community while receiving compensation and growing their respective brands and networks.
Through individual and business contributions, OneSeahawk will provide guidance and exposure that coincides with the vision of UNCW Athletics, “To be recognized for excellence in the comprehensive development of student-athletes while being a source of campus and community pride.”
The landscape of college athletics is evolving. Players are now allowed to earn money based on their NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness). That’s why we’ve created OneSeahawk, a NIL collective designed to help UNCW Athletics to continue to grow and compete at the highest levels, while also affording student athletes desirable NIL income by becoming positive pillars of their community. And in turn, by contributing to OneSeahawk, you can help ensure that the UNCW athletics community excels in sporting competition and in a range of good works. OneSeahawk’s NIL focus is additive to that of the Seahawk Club and other critical philanthropic support of UNCW athletics, and should be prioritized accordingly based on the interests of the contributor.
Among the many competitive and community advantages, OneSeahawk was built for:
- Promoting UNCW student-athletes’ increased involvement with their community by creating a bridge for these types of activities
- Helping student athletes connect with their purpose and to begin to network and brand themselves accordingly
- Providing tools, resources, and experiences to equip student-athletes for success both during and beyond their time on-campus
- Helping ensure that NIL efforts are undertaken in the right way — as one with UNCW and the community
